3565 Chain Bridge Road / Marriott Residence Inn – On January 4 the manager reported that a male subject had used fraudulent employee discount paperwork to receive a reduced rate for a room and had paid that rate with a credit card which had been declined. As the result of investigation by the Patrol Division the suspect was identified and a warrant was obtained charging him with defrauding an innkeeper. On February 1 Edwin B. Mason, 31, of 8300 Greensboro Drive, McLean, was taken into custody after the vehicle he was driving was stopped on Chain Bridge Road for expired registration. He was transported to the Adult Detention Center and his bond was set at $2500.
Firearms Violation Arrest
9800 Block of Fairfax Square / Fairfax Square Apartments – On January 19 at 11:53 PM officers responding to a report of a shot being fired determined that the resident had accidentally discharged a handgun while handling it. Subsequently, a warrant was obtained charging Robert Leo Jackson, 22, of 9832 Fairfax Square with reckless handling of a firearm. The warrant was served on February 2 and the suspect was released on a summons.
9900 Main Street / Parking Lot – On February 1 at 11:48 AM the vehicle owner reported that sometime after 8:30 AM unknown person(s) had scratched the paint on her parked vehicle.
3500 Block of Sharpes Meadow Lane – On February 1 at 3:38 PM the resident reported that in November 2016 unknown person(s) had obtained two cell phones using his identifying information and had never paid for them, leaving him subject to collection attempts.
Chain Bridge Road / Eaton Place – On February 2 at 10:35 PM an officer who had conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for disregarding a red light determined that the driver was intoxicated. Paul H. Griffiths, 57, of 13226 Ormond Drive, Bristow, was transported to the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and issued a summons for red light violation. His bond was set at $1000.
