Attempted Fraud

3810 Meredith Drive / Christ Lutheran Church – On February 6 at 12:47 PM a church employee reported receiving a telephone call from a male subject claiming to represent the power company stating that the church’s bill was overdue and payment would have to be made by calling a telephone number he provided. No money was paid and police were called.

Larceny

9570 Main Street / Ross Department Store – On February 6 at 6:09 PM the victim reported that about 5:00 PM her cell phone had been stolen at the store when she left it unattended at the register after paying for her purchases.

Attempted Fraud

11000 Block of Pumpkin Place – On February 7 at 4:08 PM the resident reported that on February 6 he had received a telephone call from a male subject stating that he was a police officer in the Dominican Republic and that the resident’s grandson had been arrested on a drug charge. The resident was directed to send a check for a large amount of money to an address in New York. Before doing so, the resident ascertained that his grandson was safe and in school.

Shoplifting

3910 University Drive / 7-Eleven – On February 7 at 5:50 PM an employee reported that two unknown male subjects had taken alcoholic beverages from the store without paying.
