Robbery Arrest

11180 Lee Highway / Navy Federal Credit Union – On February 23 employees reported that a male subject had entered the credit union and presented a note demanding money. The teller surrendered an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect left the credit union on foot. As the result of investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division in cooperation with the Arlington County Police Department the suspect was identified. On April 24 a felony robbery warrant was obtained charging Christopher Alan Martin, 32, of 3522 – 16th Street, Arlington, with the credit union robbery. The warrant was served at the Arlington County Jail where Martin is being held on a robbery charge in that county.

DUI Arrest

Maple Street / Oakwood Street – On April 20 at 10:08 PM an officer who had conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle he had observed being operated erratically determined that the driver was intoxicated. James Tobias, 46, of 4321 Andes Drive, Fairfax, was transported to the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and refusal of blood/breath test.

False Pretenses

10600 Block of Railroad Court – On April 25 at 6:22 PM the resident reported that she had received telephone calls from a male subject who claimed he was a sergeant in the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office and stated she owed money for fines for missing jury duty. She was instructed to obtain prepaid gift cards and provide him with the numbers, which she did. She subsequently was unable to regain contact with the individual and called police.
