10800 Block of Charles Drive – On April 27 at 11:58 AM the resident reported that on April 25 she had received a telephone call from a male subject claiming to be with the United States Embassy in the Dominican Republic and stating her grandson had been involved in an accident and she needed to send money for his bail bond. The victim complied with the instructions to send the money. On April 26 she received a call from the same male subject stating additional payment was needed for a “boarding pass.” Again the victim complied. Subsequently, police were called and it was determined that the victim’s grandson had never been to the Dominican Republic.
9400 Block of Fairfax Boulevard / Foxcroft Colony Condominiums – On April 27 at 5:59 PM the vehicle owner reported that on April 25 between 6:15 PM and 6:45 PM unknown person(s) had punctured the gas tank on his parked vehicle.
3950 University Drive / Greene Turtle – On April 27 at 11:15 PM the manager reported that two male subjects had presented identification in the form of Maryland driver’s licenses which were determined to be fraudulent. When confronted, the subjects fled the area prior to the arrival of police. The Patrol Division is investigating the case.
