Hit and Run Arrest
4041 University Drive – On April 26 at 4:14 PM officers responding to a two-vehicle crash with injury found that one of the vehicles involved was no longer at the scene. The vehicle and driver subsequently were located in the area. Both drivers were treated for injuries at medical facilities. As the result of investigation by the Patrol Division, Alma Joan Lowry, 87, of 11539 Clara Barton Drive, Fairfax Station, was charged on April 26 with failure to pay full time and attention and on May 1 with misdemeanor hit and run. She was released on summons.
Unauthorized Use Arrest
4200 Block of Berritt Street – On May 2 at 7:17 PM the vehicle owner reported that a female subject had taken his vehicle without his permission. The suspect and vehicle were located in the downtown area and the suspect was taken into custody. Kelly Mayann Hendrickson, 31, of 4251 Berritt Street, was transported to the Adult Detention Center where she was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and drunk in public and ordered held without bond. A subsequent separate investigation revealed that the suspect had stolen coins from a residence and she also was charged with petit larceny.
11104 Lee Highway / Epicure Café Parking Lot – On May 2 at 9:20 PM the vehicle owner reported that sometime between 7:30 PM and 8:30 PM unknown person(s) had stolen his laptop computer from his parked vehicle.
9510 Main Street / Sprint Store – On May 3 at 1:50 AM officers responded to an activated security alarm. Investigation determined that unknown person(s) had entered the store and taken two delivery packages containing merchandise. The Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the case.
