Shoplifting Arrest

9640 Main Street / Marshalls Department Store – On May 12 at 10:11 AM a security officer reported he had observed a male subject take items of merchandise from the store without paying. The suspect remained on the scene. Eduardo Angel Navarrete, 70, of 9918 Duncan Street, Fairfax, was charged with concealment and released on a summons.

3565 Chain Bridge Road - On May 12 at 6:59 PM the vehicle owner reported that sometime after 12:00 Noon on May 11 unknown person(s) had stolen a pair of shoes and a handbag from the trunk of her parked vehicle.

3300 Stafford Drive - On May 12 at 7:19 PM a City employee reported that sometime after 12:00 Midnight on May 11 unknown person(s) had built a campfire on the soccer field turf, causing it to melt.

DUI Arrest

Fairfax Boulevard / Chain Bridge Road – On May 13 at 3:35 AM an officer who had conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle being operated erratically determined that the driver was intoxicated. Anupam Patel, 26, of Hobart, Indiana, was transported to the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and his bond was set at $1500.

9602 Main Street / Lifetime Athletic – On May 13 at 10:34 AM the victim reported that sometime between 7:45 AM and 9:45 AM unknown person(s) had taken cash from his wallet in his locker.

Annoying Phone Calls Arrest

11143 Lee Highway / New York Pizza Factory – On May 14 at 2:56 AM the manager reported that a male subject had been making repeated harassing telephone calls to the business. During the course of investigation by the Field Operations Division the suspect was identified and contacted and spoke profanely to an officer. Warrants were obtained charging Christopher Whayne Eberly, 27, of 12513 Nathaniel Oaks Drive, Herndon, with harassing phone calls and vulgar language over the telephone. The warrants subsequently were served and he was released on his signature.

10200 Block of Brigade Drive – On May 14 at 5:13 PM the motorcycle owner reported that sometime after May 7 unknown person(s) had stolen the license plate from his parked motorcycle.
