3500 Block of Schuerman House Drive – On May 24 at 6:39 AM the resident reported that sometime after 11; 30 pm ON May 23 unknown person(s) had stolen a backpack which had been left in front of his garage door. The backpack contained cash, a laptop computer, an iPhone, identification and debit cards.

11048 Lee Highway / MOD Pizza – On May 24 at 6:55 PM the two male victims reported that after a male subject had attempted to steal the employee tip jar he assaulted them when confronted, at which point they detained him until the arrival of police. Christopher P. Cardinell, 47, of 5917 Old Sawmill Road, Fairfax, was taken into custody at the scene. He was transported to the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with two counts of simple assault, one count of larceny and drunk in public. He was held without bond.

9711 Fairfax Boulevard / A-Plus Motors – On May 25 at 7:33 AM employees reported that unknown person(s) had forced entry to the business overnight and stolen four vehicles and the keys to eleven others. The stolen vehicles were a 2014 BMW 535c, a 2010 BMW 750, a 2014 Mercedes Benz E350, and a 2014 BMW 435 Sport. The criminal Investigations Division is investigating the case.

3200 Block of Adams Court – On May 25 at 10:23 AM the resident reported that unknown person(s) had stolen the rear license plate from her parked vehicle.

DUI Arrest

Oak Street / Fairfax Boulevard – On May 25 at 8:34 PM an officer who had conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle he had observed being operated erratically determined that the driver was intoxicated. Edwin Anibal Garcia-Godinez, 42, of 9004 Rollingwood Drive, Fort Washington, Maryland, was transported to the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and his bond was set at $1000.
