9640 Main Street / Marshall’s – On June 29 at 11:32 AM employees reported that a male subject had taken several purses from the store without paying and had been observed leaving the area in a vehicle. As the result of investigation by the Field Operations Division the suspect was identified and warrants were obtained charging him with grand larceny and larceny with intent to sell. Warrant service was pending.
Obstruction of Justice Arrest
9652 Main Street / Best Buy – On June 29 at7:04 PM an officer investigating a possible shoplifting was told that a male subject had fled from the store after triggering a fire alarm while attempting to exit. Officers pursued the subject and took him into custody, at which time he provided identification which subsequently was determined to be fictitious. As the result of investigation by the Field Operations Division, the suspect’s identity was determined. Terry Antonio Butler, 24, of 1602 Crawford Drive, Rockville, Maryland, was transported to the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with maliciously sounding a fire alarm in public, obstruction of justice, and providing false identification. He was released on personal recognizance.
