Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board Offers Welcoming Inclusion Network at City Hall on 6/4
Residents are invited to join the Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board (CSB) to address important issues such as employment and social inclusion regarding individuals with developmental (and intellectual) disabilities on Monday, June 4 from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. in City Hall in Council Chambers, Room 100. The June meeting will feature a presentation on how employment options are supported under Medicaid waivers, as well as general waiver information.
The CSB created the new “Welcoming Inclusion Network” (WIN) in February 2018.
Four key goals of the WIN include:
build opportunities for increased information and resource sharing,
ensure service equity and efficiency,
boost employment opportunities and
identify and address challenges to full inclusion of people with different abilities into our communities.
As the number of students with disabilities served by Fairfax County and City schools continues to rise, there is an increased demand for post-graduation day and employment programs. The WIN collaborative seeks to craft services and supports that meet the growing needs of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (such as autism) in our community and look for long-term, financially feasible solutions.
All are welcome; bring a neighbor or a friend.
