Concrete Repair Performed on George Mason Boulevard 5/21 - 6/1
As part of the citywide concrete replacement program, the city is scheduled to perform concrete replacement on George Mason Boulevard from May 21 through June 1.
The following road closures are scheduled and detours will be in effect from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays (excluding holidays, weather permitting):
- May 21-25: southbound George Mason Boulevard, between Armstrong Street and University Drive.
- May 29 to June 1: northbound George Mason Boulevard, between Armstrong Street and University Drive
This will affect the George Mason Boulevard vehicle entrances to City Hall. However, drivers may still access City Hall parking lots from Armstrong Street and northbound Route 123/Chain Bridge Road.
Signage will be in place to announce the road closure and identify the work zone, and barricades will be in use on-site. Please follow directions by the crews for safe travel in the construction areas.
Please note: dates and times are subject to change.
The city and its crews appreciate drivers’ and pedestrians' patience and caution during this roadwork. Information: email, 703-385-7980.
