Waste_Hierarchy

During the past 35 years, the amount of waste each person creates has almost doubled from 2.7 to 4.6 pounds per day. Waste reduction is the most preferable method of waste management and goes a long way toward protecting the environment.  Responsible waste management involves:

•Reduction of waste (consume and throw away less)
•Reuse of waste materials
•Recycling of goods
•Buying products made from recycled content

These actions save money and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by decreasing the consumption of raw materials and energy used during manufacturing, transportation and disposal.
