Dave Rohr

Greetings,

On behalf of the Men and Women of the City of Fairfax Fire Department, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our online home. I hope you find the information you need here and if not feel free to contact me or any member of staff.

The City of Fairfax Fire Department is a combination department comprised of career employees of the City of Fairfax and volunteer members of the Fairfax Volunteer Fire Department Inc. Together we provide fire suppression, emergency medical service, and special operations service to the City of Fairfax and a 14 square mile area of Fairfax County that immediately surrounds the City of Fairfax, as well as the Fairfax Campus of George Mason University (GMU).

Please take extra time during these cold weather months to be certain your home is safe from fire and other dangers. This includes properly storing your used fireplace ashes in a nonflammable container outside of your home, extinguishing any open flames prior to going to bed, and checking your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. If you need a detector, please give us a call and we can help you determine the best place to locate it or provide batteries for your existing one. In addition, keep an eye on the local weather forecasts so that you and your neighbors can support each other during extreme weather conditions.

Our entire website is also a source for a wide range of information about our department, its members, emergency preparedness, our response activities, safety programs, training & special event information as well as the day-to-day activities of the department. Spread the word and also Follow us on Twitter. If you don’t see something you would like to on our site please feel free to let me know.

Our organizational motto is "Taking Pride In Excellence" and we are blessed with members who live up to that motto every day. I could not be more proud of the level and quality of service that our members provide to our community. The website showcases who they are and the work that they do.

Please feel free to visit at any time, our members would be happy to show you around our facilities and answer any questions you may have.
