Unfortunately, almost everyone has the experience of accidentally losing something of value sooner or later. The loss of personal property, particularly if it has sentimental value, often has an emotional impact that cannot be measured strictly in dollars. Whenever possible the Police Department will assist citizens to find lost property, even though no crime is involved.

If you find someone else's lost property, please report it promptly to the Police Department. An officer will secure the property, try to identify the owner and return the property to them. The Property Section maintains all property that is turned in to the Police Department.
