Leaf Collection Update:
Week Three (11/13-11/17)-All six zones of the city have been collected.
Don't Bag It! Curbside Leaf Collection Provided in November and December.
No Bagged Leaves are Collected Beginning 10/30/17.
The City of Fairfax Public Works Department provides curbside leaf collection month of November and December. During this curbside collection period, no bagged leaves are collected.
Loose leaves are collected at the curb from October 30th until December 29th. Please rake your loose leaves to the curb during this time. Please keep rocks, tree branches and large sticks out of the leave piles. Large or heavy items in leaf piles can damage the equipment, injure leaf collection workers and delay service.
Please have all leaves raked to the curb by December 22nd for prompt collection.Remember, leaves are collected loose at the curb only during these designated times. At all other times of the year, leaves must be placed at the curb on regular trash days in trash cans or yard waste bags. Please keep all leaves and other yard waste separate from trash at the curb.
Avoid trashing leaves completely and consider mulching your leaves for your yard. Homemade mulch is a cheap and easy alternative to store-bought mulch, and is 100 percent organic. For information, call 703-385-LEAF.
