Standing four stories tall, Fire Station 3 not only operates as the daily operational fire station but is also the administrative headquarters of the fire department. The first floor consists of the apparatus bay, a kitchen and offices for shift personnel. The second floor is made up of a dayroom, male and female bunk and locker rooms, and additional office workspace. On the third floor there is a large training room as well as a meeting hall that can hold up to 300 people. The administrative offices for the Fire Chief, Assistant Chief of Operations and other staff personnel are located on the fourth floor.

Apparatus assigned to Fire Station 3 are Battalion Chief 443, Foam Engine 403, Tower Ladder 403, and Medic 403. Additional apparatus found at the station would be E403B (Reserve Engine), Utility 403, and Reserve M403. Personnel normally assigned to Fire Station 3 are 1-Battalion Chief, 1-Captain, 2-Lieutenants, 2-Technicians, 4-Firemedics, and 2-firefighters. Fire Station 3 is also the primary station for volunteer personnel.
