Face Coverings Required for CUE Bus Riders Beginning May 26
Beginning Tuesday, May 26, City of Fairfax CUE Bus passengers are required to wear face coverings when riding CUE Buses. This policy is in line with other regional mass transit agencies, including Metrorail, Metrobus, Fairfax Connector, and DASH Bus.
“The health of our riders, as well as our drivers and other workers, is paramount to the City of Fairfax,” said Wendy Block Sanford, the city’s transportation director, noting that drivers already wear masks. “CUE Bus has taken numerous measures already, such as increased sanitation, boarding from the rear of the bus, and removing fees, to help with social distancing. Our priority is to reduce the spread of COVID-19, and this measure will help us meet that goal.”
CUE Bus continues to run on its regular schedule. Route and schedule information is available at cuebus.org.
The use of face coverings is strongly recommended by public health agencies worldwide, including the Fairfax County Health Department, the Virginia Department of Health, and the CDC.
CUE Bus provides free transportation for trips to receive essential services throughout the city, to the Vienna/Fairfax-GMU Metrorail Station, and George Mason University. CUE Bus information: cuebus.org, 703.385.7859.
