Shoplifting Arrests

9600 Main Street / Carters – On October 5 at 6:22 PM employees reported observing several suspects taking items of merchandise from the store and leaving in a vehicle. Officers located the vehicle in the area and detained the suspects. As the result of investigation by the Field Operations Division and after being transported to the Adult Detention Center, Krisda Nino Thaomui, 26, of 2300 Good Hope Road, Washington, DC; Niah Satasha Hawkins, 23, of 1639 V Street, SE, Washington, DC; and Kevon Denease Edwards, 25, of 1614 Savannah Street, SE, Washington, DC were each charged with shoplifting/grand larceny. Edwards initially provided a false name to an investigating officer and was additionally charged with providing false identification to law enforcement. She was ordered held without bond. Bond for Thaomui and Hawkins was set at $2500 each.


10700 Block of West Drive – On October 7 at 10:22 AM the vehicle owner reported that sometime after 8:30 PM on October 6 unknown person(s) had thrown a large rock through the rear window of the parked vehicle.


10160 Fairfax Boulevard / AT&T – On October 9 at 2:10 PM a manager reported that about 11:00 AM an unknown male subject had taken two iPhones from a display and fled from the store on foot. The Field Operations Division is investigating the case.

False Pretenses

10800 Block of Scott Drive – On October 9 at 5:45 PM the resident reported that after agreeing to purchase a vehicle offered on the Internet he had sent money cards in payment but subsequently had been unable to contact the alleged seller of the vehicle.


10800 Block of Maple Street – On October 9 at 7:09 PM the resident reported that between 5:00 PM and 5:30 PM unknown person(s) had stolen a vacuum cleaner which had been left unattended outside the residence.


10000 Block of Mosby Woods Drive – On October 9 at 8:49 PM the resident reported that sometime after October 4 unknown person(s) had stolen cash from a shelf inside the residence.
