Fire Station 33 Groundbreaking Ceremony Set for November 16
The city will celebrate the groundbreaking of the new Fire Station 33 at 10 am November 16 at the fire station site, 10101 Fairfax Boulevard.
The public are welcome to attend this brief ceremony.
However, please note that parking is very limited on-site — so guests may park at CVS (10090 Fairfax Boulevard) and Captain Pell's Crabhouse (10195 Fairfax Boulevard). Please park on the periphery of these parking lots, as a courtesy to the patrons of these establishments. Information: 703-385-7940, WeCare@fairfaxva.gov.
After decades of service, the current Fire Station 33, 10101 Fairfax Boulevard, has closed — and demolition began in September to make way for a new station for the City of Fairfax Fire Department.
During the approximately 18 months of construction, the fire/rescue team at Station 33 will temporarily move to our training facility on Colonial Avenue and to Station 3 on University Drive.
There will be no changes in response time to emergencies or the team's role in assisting the public.
