NOTICE: Glass-Only "Purple Can Club" Containers SUSPENDED During COVID-19 Pandemic

UPDATED: the Purple Can Club program has been suspended until further notice, and containers — including the Page Avenue container — have been removed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, city residents may drop off glass at no charge in special containers at:

Glass jars and bottles must be clean. Labels and lids accepted.

Join the Purple Can Club: Fairfax City residents are invited to recycle glass jars and bottles in the purple containers now available at 10700 Page Avenue, Fairfax, VA 22030. Visible from Judicial Drive, the container is across the street from the Page Avenue Post Office, in the Burkeholder Administrative Building parking lot.

City residents also may use all purple containers to recycle glass throughout Fairfax County. Click here to see a map of purple glass-only recycling containers.

If you receive refuse and recycling services from a provider other than the City of Fairfax Public Works Department, please check with your provider regarding glass collection. You also are welcome to use the Purple bins.

  • Clean glass jars and bottles only
  • No trash
  • No other recyclables
