April 2, 2019 Work Session

  1. Request from Madison Homes, Inc. for a City Council informational work session to discuss an application for the redevelopment of 10251 Main Street and 10318-10324 Sager Avenue.  
  2. Request from Ox Hill Realty for a City Council informational work session to discuss an application for the redevelopment of 10501 – 10523 Main Street. The site is located at the southwest corner of Main Street and West Street, Tax Map 57-4-02-076, 57-4-02-072, and 57-4-02-071.
  3. Discussion and update on the draft Affordable Dwelling Unit Ordinance.

  1. Introduction of an ordinance amending Chapter 102, Article II, Section 102-31 of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia to increase the wastewater utility rate by 10% for FY20.
  2. Introduction of an ordinance amending and readopting Chapter 90, Article II, Division 1, Section 90-33 of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, pertaining to classification and taxation of certain real property in the City of Fairfax used for or zoned for commercial and industrial purposes, and to establish a separate tax rate on such real property effective as of January 1, 2019, revenues from which would be used exclusively for transportation purposes that benefit the City of Fairfax.

Public Hearings. 

  1. Public hearing on the proposed FY20 advertised real estate tax rate of <>per $100 of assessed value, a <>increase from the current city adopted rate of <>. The difference between the equalized tax rate and the proposed tax rate would be <>per $100, or <>percent.  This difference will be known as the "effective tax rate increase."  Individual property taxes may, however, increase at a percentage greater than or less than the above percentage.
