Literary Competition 2020

The City of Fairfax Commission on the Arts regrets to announce that, due to various considerations associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, our commissioners have been prevented from awarding appropriate, planned, timely honors to a winning entry in our Literary Competition 2020. Rather than pursuing the first-ever running of this competition under such handicapping circumstances, we have decided to postpone the inauguration of this offering until 2021.

We extend our sincere thanks to all participants who submitted essays for the 2020 competition, and to the parents and teachers who encouraged them in this venture. As we look forward to next year's competition, we are considering expanding the offering to include an additional age category which has yet to be determined. We welcome your suggestions as to which age group might be most eager to share their writing abilities with their community.
