Leaf Collection Service

The city collects leaves twice a year: in the spring (Tuesdays in April), and in the fall/winter (late October/early November through December). Check the city calendar for the current year's service information.

The city collects loose leaves at the curb in neighborhoods that receive city refuse/recycling service. Please do not bag leaves during curbside leaf collection service. Bagged leaves will not be collected during that time because landfills will not accept them as trash.

Light yard debris, such as grass clippings and weeds, may be included in leaf piles — but not stones, branches, and other large items, which may cause injury to workers and damage equipment.

The city is divided into six sections, and leaves are collected in rotation by neighborhood. Crews circulate through neighborhoods at least once every two weeks, often more frequently. Heavy leaf fall or inclement weather may affect leaf collection.
