Leaf Collection Status:
The city collects leaves twice a year: in the spring (Tuesdays in April), and in the fall/winter (late October through December).
In 2019, curbside leaf collection is offered April 2, April 9, April 16, April 23, and April 30; please have loose leaves raked to the curb by 7 am on these days.
The city collects loose leaves at the curb in neighborhoods that receive city refuse/recycling service. Do not bag them — bagged leaves will not be collected during this time because landfills will not accept them as trash.
Light yard debris, such as grass clippings and weeds, may be included in leaf piles — but not stones, branches, and other large items, which may cause injury to workers and damage equipment.
The city is divided into six sections, and leaves are collected in rotation by neighborhood. Crews circulate through neighborhoods at least once every two weeks, often more frequently. Heavy leaf fall or inclement weather may affect leaf collection.
