Welcome the City's new Director of Human Services, Lesley Abashian!  Lesley is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Public Manager with twenty-five years experience in the human services arena, most recently, as the Children Services Act Program Manager in Loudoun County.   

Stop by City Hall to greet Lesley who will oversee a vast array of human services programs provided primarily by contract with regional and Fairfax County agencies.  Among services included in her portfolio are adult and aging services, child care, public assistance, health and mental health, substance use disorders and services to persons with disabilities.

Virginia Medicaid Expansion: Enrollment Begins November 1

Virginians who may have applied for Medicaid in the past and been denied may be eligible beginning January 1, 2019. Under the new guidelines, a single adult making at or below $16,750 annually may be eligible. A parent in a family of three with a household income at or below $28,700 may qualify. An applicant must be 19 to 64 years old and cannot receive or be eligible for Medicare. Additional criteria apply.
