Rachel M. McQuillen is serving her first term on City Council.
The 14-year city resident served on the City of Fairfax School Board from 2023-24, during which time she represented the school board on the city’s Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.
She served as the Providence Elementary School PTA secretary and the Providence Elementary School PTA spirit wear chair. She also has been a Westmore Neighborhood Association block representative since 2015. She is the public image chair and assistant treasurer of the Rotary Club of Fairfax and spearheads the Dictionary Project, which provides free dictionaries to third graders.
She worked in the accounting and finance industry and the health and fitness industry before launching a dog training and pet care service in 2018.
McQuillen, a George Mason University Global Engagement Scholar, earned her bachelor's degree in marketing from the George Mason University School of Business and completed studies with the Cultural Intelligence Center.
She is a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals and visits local schools with her labrador retriever, who recently began work as a therapy dog.
