Daily Before/After School Programs

2026-27 Sherwood Before/After School Program

Hours: Before care: 7:30 a.m.-Start of School | After care: End of School-6 p.m.

Fees: Before Only - $230/month | After Only - $405/month | Both - $550/month (10% sibling discount)

Daniels Run parents! Are you looking for a great, affordable before/after school childcare option?

The Sherwood Center, 3740 Blenheim Boulevard, offers a before and after-school program for children who attend Daniels Run Elementary School. The trained staff will walk students to and from the school to the Sherwood Center, across the street.

What's included:

Children will spend time working on their homework, arts and crafts, playing games, playing at Van Dyck Park (weather permitting), and more!
Healthy afternoon snack and drink provided each day.
All children must be signed out by 6 p.m.

Michuchutren Spanish Immersion Academia Program

Ages: 5-12 | Saturdays | Spanish Required

Location: Green Acres Center, 4401 Sideburn Rd.
Time: Saturdays, 9 a.m.-noon | Schedule for 2026-27 to be announced

The Michuchutren Academy is created for a community concerned with promoting bilingualism and respect for diversity by teaching Latin American language and culture.

Our purpose is to create a space for all families with Latino and Hispanic roots, where love for their language and hereditary roots are fostered. Children will learn to love and respect who they are and their multiculturalism.

A center for families who, although they do not have Latino roots, want their children to grow up with the opportunity to speak the third most spoken language in the world and the second most spoken in the United States, Spanish. This also gives them the opportunity to understand the different Latino cultures and promote respect for diversity.

Basic knowledge of the language needed: Children should understand and have previous exposure to the language. A simple interview will be conducted before the beginning of classes.
Professional Native Spanish teachers: All classrooms will have a ratio of 10 kids per teacher, 20 kids per classroom max.
Multi-age approach: The classrooms are divided by similar language level and not by age, but all activities are created to promote collaboration and age-appropriate challenges.
Experiential learning: The program is designed as an experiential learning experience where reading comprehension, writing skills, grammar, and proper communication will be incorporated.

Astronomy Club

Grades: 1st - 5th | Cost: $189 | Daniels Run Elementary

Astronomy Club takes students on a journey through space with interactive lessons, model building, simulations, planet exploration, constellation activities, and telescope observations where available. Children investigate the solar system, stars, galaxies, space exploration, and the science behind astronomical phenomena. The goal is to spark curiosity about the universe while developing scientific inquiry, observation skills, and a deeper understanding of space and Earth’s place within it.

Ready, set, GOAL! Tekker's Lab turns the schoolyard into a soccer pitch with dribbling obstacle courses, skill challenges and small sided scrimmages. Our high energy, professional coaches group players by age and ability so every kid gets to shine, no experience needed! Equipment provided; bring a water bottle, athletic shoes, shin guards, and lots of energy!

Young Architects Club

Young Architects introduces students to architecture, engineering, and design through creative building challenges and project based learning. Using a variety of construction materials and design tools, children create bridges, towers, homes, and city layouts while learning about structural stability, planning, and sustainable design. The goal is to strengthen creativity, spatial reasoning, teamwork, and problem solving while inspiring an interest in architecture and engineering.

Designed for our youngest students, this program serves as a real life math lab where students practice their computational skills and develop a foundation in financial literacy. Students participate in money math games and activities that help them internalize how they can use their math skills in everyday life.

This winter students will push limits on the snack concepts and prepare a variety of sweet, savory, delicious, and unique nibbles. This is not your mother’s PP&J! Chefs will prepare a variety of bite sized munchies like sweet mango salsa with cinnamon sugar tortilla chips, veggie quesadilla with fresh salsa, homemade pretzels, roasted red pepper hummus with homemade pita chips and more. No one will leave this session hungry!

Learn the art of persuasion! Students work in rotating groups and practice their debating skills in a supportive environment, including developing arguments, issuing rebuttals, providing examples, rebuilding their case and summarizing points of view. Students learn to think on their feet and enhance their public speaking skills, gaining self confidence in the process.

Energy Explorers

Energy Explorers is an exciting fitness program that keeps children active through obstacle courses, movement challenges, relay races, balance activities, climbing, jumping, crawling, and team games. Each session is designed to build strength, coordination, agility, endurance, and confidence while encouraging children to stay active in a fun and supportive environment. The program promotes healthy habits, teamwork, and resilience, with the goal of developing well rounded physical skills and a lifelong enjoyment of movement and exercise.

A structured and welcoming pickleball program designed for beginner and developing youth players. Participants will build a strong foundation in paddle control, serves, returns, volleys, dinking, movement, court positioning, and rally development while gradually learning how to construct and play points. Sessions combine technical instruction with live-ball drills and games to develop confidence, consistency, and an understanding of the sport. Taught by the award-winning Laskar Pickleball coaching team — 2025 USTA Provider Champion and 2026 USTA President’s Impact Award recipient.

Unlock the joy of music with this playful piano class! Students learn notes, rhythms, and short songs in a fun, hands on environment, no experience needed! Rental instruments and music provided. A rental agreement must be signed, and instruments must be returned at the last class.

The Ultimate Music Camp

Learn Now Music Group introduces campers to a variety of musical instruments and concepts, including guitar, violin, drums, voice, and movement. No experience is necessary! Campers participate in musical games, crafts, musical listening activities, related projects, and more. FREE instrumental rentals are provided for in camp use and at home exploration with a signed LNMG Camp Agreement. Instruments must be returned at the end of the camp. Campers should bring an AM and PM snack, drink, and nut free bag lunch each day.

In Cupcake Wars 2.0, campers will explore new recipes, decorating techniques, and fun culinary challenges inspired by breakfast foods, drinks, regional and international cuisines, and even savory creations. Campers will compete in rotating small groups while building their skills and letting their creativity shine!
