Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board

The City of Fairfax shares services with Fairfax County for Mental Health Services.

The Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board (CSB) provides lifesaving services for people experiencing mental health concerns, substance misuse and/or developmental disabilities. Our vision is that everyone in our community has the support needed to live a healthy, fulfilling life.

If you are struggling with mental health issues, the Fairfax-Falls Church CSB has resources to help.

Non-Emergency CSB Services

  • Take one of our quick, confidential online screenings, which are also available in Spanish.
  • If it's not an emergency situation, but you or someone you care about needs mental health or substance use disorder services, call our Entry & Referral Services during regular business hours Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 703-383-8500, TTY 711. Staff can take calls in English and Spanish and can access interpreters for other languages when needed. Walk-in hours at the Sharon Bulova Center for Community Health are Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Behavioral Health Services for Children, Youth and Families

The Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board (CSB) provides behavioral health services for children and youth who have serious emotional and mental health issues and/or substance use issues. Based on an individualized assessment, children, youth and families are offered a treatment plan tailored to their specific strengths and needs.

Mental Health or Substance Use Emergencies

  • If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis, help is just a phone call away, 24 hours a day. Call CSB Emergency Services at 703-573-5679, TTY 711.
  • If situation is immediately life-threatening, call 911. Ask for a crisis intervention team officer.
  • Fairfax Detoxification Center – Short-term residential program for adults who need help to safely detoxify from the effects of drugs and/or alcohol. Call 703-502-7000, TTY 703-322-9080 (4213 Walney Road, Chantilly).
  • If you are having a psychiatric emergency, you can also come directly to the Sharon Bulova Center for Community Health.
  • For urgent mental health related distress calls, 703-527-4077 (Regional Crisis Call Center).  Anyone can text "CONNECT" to 855-11 and a volunteer will respond within minutes.
