October 13, 2026 – Regular Meeting

3. Presentation of a proclamation acknowledging October 21, 2026 as "Support Your Local Chamber Day" in the City of Fairfax.
4. Presentation of a proclamation acknowledging October as Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month.

1. Consideration of a FY 2027 Fall Supplemental Appropriations.
2. Consideration of a resolution to authorize Certificate of Take for properties associated with Chain Bridge Road Sidewalk Project.

Public Hearing.

1. Public hearing and Council action on a request from Mantua Hills Swimming Association, applicant, for a Special Use Permit amendment (approved by City Council 5/20/2003 under City Code Sec. 110-482) to modify conditions governing tennis court and swimming pool hours of operation on premises identified as 3425 Pickett Rd and more particularly described as Tax Map 58-1((2))-026A.

Work Session.

1. Pre-application briefing for City Centre, West, Ox Hill Realty (applicant) for proposed upper story/mixed use residential building with ground floor commercial and restaurant uses at 10501 Main Street, City Centre West. (tentative)

November 5, 2026 - Engage Fairfax: Shaping the FY 2028 Budget Priorities

Community Engagement Session with residents, businesses, and stakeholders on providing feedback to shape the FY 2028 Budget before development begins.

November 7, 2026 –Budget Work Session

1. Presentation and Discussion on the FY 2026 Preliminary Results & FY 2027 1^st Quarter Financial Review.
2. Discussion on Updates to the FY 2028 Financial Policies and Council Budget Guidelines.
3. Discussion of an Ordinance Amending Chapter 90 (Taxation), Article II (Real Property Taxes), Division 3 of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia pertaining to Tax Relief Program Exemptions for the Elderly and Disabled.
4. Discussion on FY 2028 Forecast including Macro and Micro Economic Conditions, Revenue and Expenditure Overview; Review of Current Debt and Associated Ratios, the Capital Improvement Program, and Other Funds. 

November 10, 2026 – Regular Meeting & Work Session (November 3, 2026 Work Session canceled due to City Elections.)

1. Presentation of a proclamation acknowledging November 15-21, 2026, as Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week in the City of Fairfax.
2. Presentation of a proclamation acknowledging November 27 - December 24, 2026 as Small Business Month in the City of Fairfax.

1. Consideration of a resolution to adopt Wilcoxon Trail Updated Alignment (TENTATIVE - alternate date would be December 8).
2. Consideration of Updates to the FY 2028 Financial Policies and Council Budget Guidelines.
3. Introduction of an Ordinance Amending Chapter 90 (Taxation), Article II (Real Property Taxes), Division 3 of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia pertaining to Tax Relief Program Exemptions for the Elderly and Disabled.

November 17, 2026 – Special Meeting (If Needed)

1. (TENTATIVE) Introduction of an ordinance enacting the City of Fairfax to levy a General Retail Sales Tax at a Rate Not to Exceed One Percent (1.0%) for the Purpose of Providing Revenue Solely for Public School Capital Projects in Accordance with Virginia Code Section 58.1-605.1.

December 1, 2026 – Work Session

1. Discussion on the proposed City of Fairfax 2027 Legislative Program.
2. Presentation and Discussion on the Draft FY 2028-2032 Capital Improvement Program.
3. Discussion on the Move Fairfax City Draft Pedestrian Master Plan and Draft Safety Action Plan.

Meeting Information

The City Council typically meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month, and holds work sessions on the first Tuesday of the month. The City Council conducts no meetings or work sessions in August. Additional meetings may be called as necessary.
