November 4, 2025 General Election

Election Day

  • Tuesday, November 4, 2025
    • Polls open 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
    • Make sure to go to your designated polling location on Election Day. Find out where to go using the Polling Place Lookup tool.

Vote Early In-Person

  • Dates:
    • Begins on Friday, Sept. 19 and ends on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025
  • Regular Early Voting Hours:
    • 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday
    • Fairfax City Hall is open for early voting on two Saturdays, Oct. 25 and Nov. 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Where to go:
    • Fairfax City residents may vote early at Fairfax City Hall, located at 10455 Armstrong St. Fairfax, VA 22030
NOTE: Fairfax County residents must go to a Fairfax County early voting satellite location or to the Fairfax County Government Center, located at 12000 Government Center Pkwy Ste 323 Fairfax, VA 22035. Learn more.
  • What to know:
    • No appointment is required to vote early.
    • Curbside voting is available throughout the early voting period and on Election Day.
    • Be sure to bring an acceptable ID.
    • Check on your registration status ahead of time using the Virginia Department of Elections Citizen Portal.
    • The deadline to register or update your registration is Friday, Oct. 24, 2025. Applications must be received by 5 p.m. in person, 11:59 p.m. online, or postmarked on or before the deadline.

Voters Voting By-Mail

  • The deadline to request a by-mail ballot is Friday, Oct. 24, 2025
    • Applications must be received by our office by 5 p.m.
  • There are two ways to return your voted by-mail ballot:
    • By mail, using the provided pre-paid return envelope.
    • In person at Fairfax City Hall or to a drop box. Our secure 24-hour ballot drop box is located by the Atrium entrance closest to George Mason Blvd. On Election Day, all voting precincts will also have a drop box to return your by-mail ballot. Please return in the envelope provided.
  • If you return your voted ballot by mail, it must be post marked on or before election day and received by 12 p.m. the Friday after the election.
NOTE: If you have requested and received a by-mail ballot but wish to vote in person on machine instead, make sure to bring your unvoted by-mail ballot with you.
