Fall Festival Set for Oct. 11 in Old Town Fairfax
Published on September 16, 2025
Welcome autumn in Fairfax City at the city’s 49th annual Fall Festival on Oct. 11, as 400+ vendors line the streets of Old Town Fairfax with arts and crafts, food from around the world, children’s activities, music, and more.
From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine, stalls with an eye-popping variety of quality arts and crafts will line Main Street, University Drive, and Sager Avenue in Old Town Fairfax. Admission is free, and some activities (such as children’s rides) may require a fee.

Multiple stages featuring a variety of music dot the festival, with room to dance.
Youngsters of all ages can enjoy their own special activities, including a petting zoo, pint-sized rides, and music. Fall for the Book, the region’s premiere book festival, offers activities at the Children’s Stage.
Stop by Sparky’s Harvest Bash at Fire Station 3 to check out the city’s fire truck, meet volunteer firefighters, check out the life safety trailer, and grab a selfie with Sparky the Fire Dog.
Discover Fairfax history with free guided tours of Ratcliffe-Allison-Pozer House from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Main Street, or the Fairfax Museum and Visitor Center (just outside the festival at 10209 Main Street, open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.).
Dine on your favorite foods and snacks, cool your heels in one of the beer gardens, take a tour of a centuries-old house, and enjoy the hometown festival at your own pace.
There are plenty of ways to get to the festival. Take the free, fully accessible shuttle from Fairfax High School or George Mason University (with free parking). Limited free, fully accessible parking is available at nearby lots (City Hall, Old Town Plaza, and the Judicial Center).
If you bike or ride a scooter to the festival, use the free valet service at University Drive and Armstrong Street, where you also can park your strollers. No bikes or scooters may enter the festival.
Please leave your pets at home for their safety and comfort. Service animals are welcome.
