Trick-or-treaters are welcome at these special events planned during the Halloween season in Fairfax City!

Fairfax City Ghost Tour

Oct. 24, 25, 30, 31; 7 p.m., 9 p.m.
North Street, Old Town Fairfax

Learn about the history and haunts of spirited former residents who may still inhabit the buildings of Old Town Fairfax City. Researched and hosted by experienced ghost tour guides, the 90-minute ghost tour is for all ages, with just the right amount of spooky. (No jump scares!)

Tickets: $25/adults (age 12+), $20 children 11 and younger.

Haunting for Candy

Oct. 26, 4-6 p.m.
Old Town Square, Old Town Fairfax

Trick-or-treat on Old Town Square, where various businesses and nonprofit organizations will hand out candy to trick-or-treaters, and explore Old Town Fairfax by trick-or-treating at participating businesses. Enjoy lots of fun and games at this free family-friendly event!

Trick-or-Treat Trail, Oct. 27

Celebrate Halloween with the police department along the Trick-or-Treat Trail from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Oct. 27 at the city police station, 3730 Blenheim Blvd.

Cars will drive through the parking lot: please stay in your vehicle, and officers will distribute treats to you.

This event is for Fairfax City residents ages 12 and younger; child must be present to receive the goodies.

Costumes are encouraged for children and adults alike.

Trick-or-Treat, Oct. 31

Fairfax City welcomes boos and ghouls to trick-or-treat on Halloween, Oct. 31, at Fairfax City government facilities. Costumes encouraged for all!

  • Green Acres front desk, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Sherwood Center front desk, 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Fairfax City Hall department offices, 1-4 p.m.
