1. Share a Selfie to Enter the “Get There Differently” Raffle

Whether it’s hopping on a scooter, biking to the store, or taking the CUE Bus, we want to see how you “Get There Differently.” Share a selfie and enter to win a $50 Flex Card—redeemable at local Fairfax businesses!

How to Enter:

1. Take a selfie while using alternative transportation (bike, scooter, bus, carpool, etc.).
2. Post it on social media using the hashtag #FFXCityGetThereDifferently, and tag the City’s X, Facebook, or Instagram account. Include the URL bit.ly/FFXGetThereDifferently.
3. Watch your inbox! Winners will be notified via the platform they used to post.

Terms: Bike and scooter riders must wear a helmet in their photo to qualify. The City reserves the right to use submitted photos in promotional materials.

2. Take the Pledge to Go Car Free

Car Free Day is a worldwide event encouraging the use of greener travel options. In our region, Commuter Connections hosts the event to highlight the benefits of biking, walking, transit, telework, carpooling, and vanpooling.

Take the Car Free Day Pledge by September 23 and you'll be entered into a regional prize raffle. Already commute car-free? You can still pledge!

3. Ride Capital Bikeshare – Get a Free Day Pass or $20 Off an Annual Membership

5. Ride CUE for a Surprise Prize from the CUE Prize Patrol

The CUE Bus is free every day—and this September, riding it could win you a prize!

Throughout the month, the CUE Prize Patrol (featuring surprise guests like the City Mayor!) will board random buses to thank riders for “Getting There Differently.”

From Rail to Bus to Bike—There Are Many Options to Try!

Leave your car at home and explore these great alternatives:

• Local Bus and Rail: Transfer between Fairfax Connector, Metrobus, and Metrorail. Use Metro Trip Planner or download TransLoc for CUE real-time arrivals.
• Carpooling and Vanpooling: Share a ride using HOV lanes to reduce stress and time. Find a rideshare match or meet at a Park & Ride lot.
• Biking: With nearly 30 miles of trails and bike-friendly streets, biking is easy in Fairfax. See the bike network.
• Teleworking: Working from home is another way to go car-free. Resources for employers.

Consider registering for Guaranteed Ride Home, a free program that provides emergency transportation for commuters who use car-free options.
