The City of Fairfax Department of Elections received a Writ of Special Election on Friday for the Virginia House of Delegates from the 11th House District. The vacancy was occasioned by the resignation of Del. David L. Bulova.
The special election will be held Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2026, to fill the vacancy.
The deadline for candidates to file ballot access documents is 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025. Candidates can review ballot access documents and filing requirements on the Virginia Department of Elections website at elections.virginia.gov.
Further information regarding the special election will be available on the City of Fairfax Office of Elections website at fairfaxva.gov/vote.
