CITY OF FAIRFAX —On September 2, 2025 at approximately 7:43 p.m. the City of Fairfax Police responded to the 4000 block of Gateway Drive for the report of a weapons violation. Investigation revealed that while the victim was walking their dog, an unknown male exited the elevator, ran towards them with a knife, threatened them with the knife, and then fled the scene. No injuries were reported.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division identified the suspect and obtained a warrant.
On September 4, 2025, Gervin Cruz-Corea, 19, of Fairfax, was arrested and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he was charged with one count of assault. Cruz-Corea was held on a secure bond.
