Fairfax City Parks and Recreation is once again partnering with Fairfax City Public Schools to support families in need this holiday season.

With the help of parent liaisons and school counselors from Daniels Run Elementary School, Providence Elementary School and Katherine Johnson Middle School, families have been identified and shared their wish lists. This is a wonderful opportunity for departments, local businesses, community groups or individuals who want to give back and make the season brighter.

Donation Options and Sign Up

Commit by Nov. 15 — Sponsor a Family

A. Sponsor a small family: Buy gifts for a family of two children or fewer

B. Sponsor a large family: Buy gifts for a family of three or more children

  • Suggested donation: Up to five gifts per child, $50-$100 per child (no limit on clothes and basic necessities)
  • If you choose to sponsor a family, you will be assigned your family before Thanksgiving and gifts will be due to the Sherwood Center no later than Dec. 12

Give Anytime Until Dec. 12

C. Gift card donations: Local grocery stores, Target, Walmart, Visa

D. Monetary Donation: Staff will buy gifts to donate to families
     - Cash and Check: Drop off at Sherwood Center, 3740 Blenheim Blvd.
     - Credit Card: Pay With Credit Card

(Please note processing fees are deducted from donation)

     Gifts are shipped directly to the Sherwood Center

F. Wrapping supplies: Bags, paper, tissue paper, ribbon, bows, etc.
