New this year: a second category recognizing young rising stars in the Fairfax City Community

Do you know a woman making a powerful difference in our community — through leadership, service, advocacy, or dedication to others? Nominate her for the Fairfax City Commission for Women’s 2026 Women of Influence Awards.

Across Fairfax City, remarkable women are strengthening neighborhoods, businesses, schools, and nonprofits. These awards honor local women whose vision, courage, and commitment uplift others and help create a more equitable, inclusive, and vibrant community.

In 2026, the Commission for Women expanded the award to include two categories: the Women of Influence Award and the Rising Star Award.

The Women of Influence Award recognizes women whose leadership, service, and sustained impact have made Fairfax City stronger and have inspired others through professional or volunteer roles.

The Rising Star Award recognizes emerging leaders — women younger than age 35, early in their careers or volunteer or community work — who demonstrate exceptional promise, passion, and dedication to positive change. By uplifting these rising voices, we hope to inspire continued leadership and service across Fairfax City.

All nominees must be residents of the City of Fairfax and have worked or contributed in ways that benefit city residents.

Self-nominations and community nominations are both encouraged.

All nomination packets must be submitted by March 5. Results will be announced in late March. The winners will be celebrated at an awards ceremony at 6 p.m. April 14 at Fairfax City Hall.  Reception to follow immediately after the ceremony.
