Celebrate Women’s History Month in Fairfax City by honoring local women of influence, attending a community reception, and joining a sustainability event — all hosted by the Fairfax City Commission for Women.
Women of Influence Awards Nominations, March 5
Recognize and celebrate outstanding Fairfax City women who have significantly impacted our community: nominate them for the Women of Influence Awards. Nominations are accepted through March 5.

The Commission for Women will honor award recipients at a reception and award ceremony at 6 p.m. April 14 in Fairfax City Hall.
Women’s History Month Reception and Proclamation, March 10
Fairfax City celebrates women and their contributions to the city (and beyond) with a reception at 6 p.m. March 10 in Fairfax City Hall, hosted by the city’s Commission for Women and the Parks and Recreation Department. Following the reception, the mayor will present a proclamation celebrating Women’s History Month during the city council meeting. All are invited. Info: 703-385-7894
Leading the Change Toward a Sustainable Future, March 15
Learn about women-run businesses and organizations that focus on sustainability in everyday life at “Leading the Change Towards a Sustainable Future,” a free interactive event from 1-3 p.m. March 15 at the Sherwood Center.
Enjoy hands-on activities, discover practical tips for greener living, connect with local leaders, and browse sustainable products available for purchase. Our goal is to inspire and empower community members by highlighting practical, accessible ways to live more sustainably. This event is sponsored by the City of Fairfax Commission for Women and the Environmental Sustainability Committee.
