Assault and Battery Arrest

CITY OF FAIRFAX — On July 24, 2026, City of Fairfax Police were notified of a reported assault involving a Fairfax County Public Schools bus attendant and a student.

Detectives obtained and reviewed video from the school bus transporting students to a summer program.  The investigation determined that the bus attendant struck the student in the head on the reported date and time.  Detectives also identified additional incidents where the bus attendant assaulted the same student during July 2026.  The case was presented to the Fairfax County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office who found sufficient probable cause for criminal charges.

Sung Soo Bang, 73, of Burke, Virginia was charged with four counts of Assault and Battery (18.2-57).  Bang voluntarily turned himself in and was released on a magistrate-issued summons.  He has a pending court date in Fairfax County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
