The City of Fairfax Parks and Recreation Department follows the Fairfax County School’s cancellation policy.
When schools are closed due to inclement weather, all recreation classes and activities for all ages will be cancelled. All facilities where these programs are held will only be open for administration purposes—Sherwood Community, and Old Town Hall, as directed by the City Manager. Please check the City website at www.fairfaxva.gov for specifics information on all delays, early dismissals and closings.

UPDATE - Great News
It is with great pleasure that we can tell you that City Council unanimously approved the resolution to accept the first ever Strategic Master Plan for Parks, Recreation, Trails, Open Space, Cultural Arts, and Events.
