Fairfax City Expands Trash and Recycling Cart Rollout

Fairfax City will roll out new standard 64-gallon trash and recycling carts in January 2026, with options for 32-gallon carts, or opting out altogether. The carts aim to improve safety, efficiency, and reduce litter. Residents must submit size changes or opt-out requests by Nov. 3 at fairfaxva.gov/resolve, or they will receive the standard carts. A take-back program for old containers will follow.

Fairfax City Holiday Craft Show Returns with 200+ Artisans

Fairfax City’s Holiday Craft Show is Nov. 15–16 at Fairfax High School, featuring 200+ artisans with handmade gifts, décor, and gourmet items. Hours are 10–5 Saturday and 10–3 Sunday. Admission is $5 or $8 for two days; ages 18 and under are free. Parking is on-site, with a Saturday shuttle available.
