CITY OF FAIRFAX —The City of Fairfax Police investigated a series of commercial burglaries targeting Tobacco and Vape businesses. On July 16, 2025 at approximately 4:37 a.m. the City of Fairfax Police responded to 10470 Fairfax Boulevard (Tobacco Hut). On July 20th at approximately 6:14 a.m. officers responded to 9988 Main Street (Smoke Source Tobacco and Vape). On July 23rd at approximately 7:21 a.m. officers responded to 10782 Fairfax Boulevard (Tobacco Hut). The investigations revealed that an unknown male forced entry into the businesses and stole merchandise.

 

Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division determined that all three cases were related and were able to identify a suspect. Through their thorough investigation it was also determined that similar burglaries occurred in Fairfax County. City of Fairfax Police Detectives obtained a search warrant for the subject’s residence.  In partnership with the Fairfax County Police Department the search warrant was served and evidence was collected pertaining to the burglaries.

 

On July 24, 2025, David Elliot, 23, of Fairfax County was arrested by Fairfax County Detectives and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he was charged with three counts of Burglary (18.2-89). Elliot was released on an unsecure bond.
