Officers responded for the report of a single vehicle crash. The investigation revealed that the driver was under the influence of narcotics and was in possession of stolen license plates. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle was stolen out of Fairfax County. Edwin Sanchez, 39, of Fairfax was arrested and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Drugs, Petit Larceny, Obstruction of Justice, Grand Larceny, and Driving on a Suspended License. Officers located the suspect nearby. Marquis Pearson, 35, of Rockville, MD was issued a Virginia Uniformed Summons for Petit Larceny and was released. Officers responded for the report of motor vehicle crash. The investigation revealed that a vehicle struck a parked vehicle. During the investigation the driver of the striking vehicle fled the scene. Officers located the suspect nearby. During the arrest the suspect assaulted an officer. No injuries were reported. Shaun Cunningham Jr., 31, of Hampton, VA was arrested and was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he was charged with Driving Under the Influence, Refusal, Eluding, Hit and Run, Obstruction of Justice, Assault on Law Enforcement, and Driving Without a License. Cunningham Jr. was held on no bond. (2025-18352)
