Indigenous Perspectives seeks to place the voices and experiences of Virginia’s tribal communities at the center of an active examination of the Library of Virginia’s holdings. The exhibit will acknowledge and recognize that Virginia’s Indigenous communities have been, and remain a vital part of Virginia’s history and culture.
The eight-panel traveling exhibition with a kiosk and touchscreen monitor is organized around the themes of sovereignty, environment, identity, community, language, and future. The exhibit will be on display at the Fairfax Museum and Visitor Center from September 16 - October 24.
