*In years past, this event was typically held in Old Town Hall, however, it has been moved to the Sherwood Center for this year's event. The Chocolate Express does stop at this location, and there is limited on-site parking. Please review the "Festival Directions & Parking Information" to plan your trip accordingly!

Here's How It Works:

Step 1: Exchange your money for Pogs. $1 = 1 Pog
Step 2: Exchange your pogs for chocolate
Step 3: Buy more Pogs so you can buy more chocolate! There's no such thing as too much chocolate!

Please Note:

Pogs can be purchased when you enter the venue. Typically, chocolate treats range from one to 10 pogs depending on their size. You can always replenish your pogs during your chocolate adventure by purchasing them from the floor volunteers (they're in red aprons) or visiting the cash/credit table located inside the event. There are NO REFUNDS for purchased Pogs.

1. Email the chair of the Independence Day Celebration Committee to request an application at FFXIDCC@gmail.com
2. Fill out the application and return prior to deadline

How It Works:

Step 1: Purchase drink tickets. $2 = 1 Drink Ticket
Step 2: For those who plan to sample the alcoholic tastings, please have your ID checked to receive an "Over 21 Wristband." Please ensure this wristband is visible at all times. We do ID everyone and kindly request that it's out and ready for a smoother, faster purchase line.
Step 3: Exchange your ticket for a drink sample. 1 Ticket = 1 Non-Alcoholic Sample. 2 Tickets = 1 Alcoholic Sample ("Over 21 Wristband" is also required)
Step 4: Make a new memory by taking a selfie in front of the Liquid Chocolate Backdrop. Then send it to all your friends to let them know they're missing out and should also come to the Chocolate Lovers Festival!

The Chocolate Lovers Festival Committee grant is awarded to a nonprofit organization in the City of Fairfax or a nonprofit organization in the metropolitan Washington area that provides services directly to people who live in the City of Fairfax. Our primary mission is to bring handbell programs to low/fixed-income senior living centers, Veteran Rehabilitation Programs, and Addiction Treatment Programs. Our programs are provided at no cost to the participants, facilities, or the host program through the fundraising efforts of the auditioned handbell group, Bronze Unlimited. Be sure to catch one of their upcoming performances!

Take Exit 52A (Route 236, Little River Turnpike West) and travel about six miles into Old Town Fairfax.

From I-66 East or West:

Take Exit 60 (Route 123/Chain Bridge Road). Follow southbound Route 123 through the City of Fairfax to Old Town Fairfax.

From I-95 North or South:

• From points north on I-95, take Exit 27 (I-495 West). Once on I-495, take Exit 52-A (Route 236, Little River Turnpike West) and travel about six miles into Old Town Fairfax.
• From points south on I-95, take Exit 160B (Route 123 North, Lake Ridge/Occoquan). Follow northbound Route 123 for about 16 miles to the City of Fairfax and into Old Town Fairfax.

From Route 50/Fairfax Boulevard:

Take Route 123/Chain Bridge Road South. Follow southbound Route 123 to Old Town Fairfax.

From the Vienna/Fairfax-GMU Metrorail Station:

Take the CUE Bus (Green 2 or Gold 1) to Old Town Fairfax. Take the CUE Bus (Green 2 or Gold 1) to Old Town Fairfax. The CUE Bus is free. Call 703-385-7859 or visit the CUE Bus website for more information.

The Chocolate Express

Getting around the Chocolate Lovers Festival is easy—and fun—when you ride the Chocolate Express! This free, fully ADA-accessible shuttle travels to all event venues throughout downtown Fairfax City, so you can relax and enjoy the ride while exploring the festival. While you cruise the downtown area, be sure to indulge in our 250th Chocolate CoinChallenge! 

Attendees are recommended to use one of the listed parking locations and using the shuttle to navigate the festival. Events are spread throughout the downtown area, and most venues have limited parking.

250th Chocolate Coin Challenge

Turn your festival visit into a sweet adventure! Join the 250th Chocolate Coin Challenge and collect your way to a special keepsake!

How it works:

• Pick up a Cocolandia Festival Map from a Chocolate Express bus attendant.
• Attend festival events and activity areas throughout downtown
• Receive a sticker to put on your map after participating location, provided by the bus attendant
• Collect 5 or more stickers to earn a commemorative 250th Chocolate Coin
