The Dwight Avenue Improvements project will make the intersection of Roberts Road and Dwight Avenue safer to navigate and install new sidewalks and drainage infrastructure along Dwight Avenue. These improvements were requested by residents through the Residential New Concrete Sidewalk Program.
This project includes intersection improvements at Roberts Road and Dwight Avenue and at Orchard Drive and Dwight Avenue, as well as new sidewalks and curb and gutter on the north side of Dwight Avenue between Roberts Road and Orchard Drive.
Sidewalks will improve pedestrian safety by providing dedicated space for walking, while curb and gutter will contain stormwater runoff to the roadway and prevent it from flowing onto private property.
This project meets the city's sidewalk criteria including safety, connectivity, and equity benefits, and it was included in the city's FY 2024-25 Two-Year Transportation Program, adopted by City Council on June 13, 2023.
City Council unanimously approved a resolution to endorse the city's FY 27/28 Revenue Sharing Application for Dwight Avenue improvements. Funding became available and design began in FY 2026; construction is anticipated in 2028-2029.
