Fall Tree Giveaway

Next date: Tuesday, October 13, 2026 | 01:00 AM to Monday, November 30, 2026 | 11:59 PM

Plant a tree at home and help bring trees to your neighborhood! Trees clean the air, provide shade, fight climate impacts like extreme heat (PDF), and improve the health of our community.

In partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation, the city's urban forestry program is pleased to offer residents no-cost native trees each spring and fall. Learn more about Community Tree Distributions.

How to reserve your tree

All City of Fairfax residences are eligible to participate in the tree giveaway program. Free trees are limited to one per residential address per season, or two trees per year. Tree orders are processed in the order they are placed.

Fall 2026 orders can be placed online through the Arbor Day Foundation website from Sept. 18 through Nov. 25, while supplies last.
