Missing woman located during LPR-linked traffic stop

Just before midnight, an officer conducted a traffic stop on Main Street after a gold Kia triggered an LPR alert earlier in the evening. The vehicle was connected to a missing woman from Arkansas, who had traveled roughly four days to reach Fairfax.
The woman was found to be experiencing a mental health crisis and was safely taken into custody so she could receive care.
LPR leads to arrest of burglary crew

Officers responded to the 9600 block of Fairfax Boulevard after a front glass break alarm sounded, and arrived to find the glass door shattered. Investigators confirmed a burglary had occurred, carried out by three masked subjects who fled in a vehicle.
Using LPR technology, officers determined the getaway vehicle had been stolen. The vehicle was later recovered, and all three subjects were identified. They were found responsible for six burglaries across the region: three in Prince William County, two in Fairfax County, and one in the City of Fairfax.
LPR helps solve five-burglary spree

Fairfax City police officers responding to a burglary at 9988 Main Street were able to use License Plate Reader (LPR) technology to track a vehicle fleeing the scene. The investigation ultimately linked the suspects to five burglaries — three in the City of Fairfax and two in Fairfax County.
