Fatal Pedestrian Crash

CITY OF FAIRFAX — On September 9, 2026, at 2:32 p.m. City of Fairfax Police responded to the 3900 block of Pickett Road for a motor vehicle crash involving a 13-year old juvenile and a large truck.

The juvenile sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.  Preliminarily information is the large truck was observed to be leaving the shopping center when it struck the juvenile riding a bicycle.  A vehicle of interest, and driver, were located nearby.

Officers with the City of Fairfax, in addition to Fairfax County Police Crash Reconstruction Unit, are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Virginia code 19.2-112.2 prohibits Virginia law enforcement agencies from directly or indirectly identifying deceased juvenile victims.
