Position Summary

This is a paid internship with the city’s Urban Forestry Division. Example tasks and projects may include updating tree inventory data, assisting with pest and disease monitoring protocols, improving forested areas through invasive management and tree recruitment projects, installing and maintaining native trees and plants, and helping administer the city’s fall tree giveaway and seasonal acorn/nut collection effort.

Data collection, plant identification, and communication are desired skills, as well as the ability to work independently. General knowledge of natural resources, environmental conservation, or related field preferred. Work will include a combination of indoor office work and outdoor fieldwork.

Internship Dates

The intern will work from approximately September 1, 2026, through the end of the fall academic semester. Start and end dates are flexible.
